Fat Dialogue / Sugar Junkie Blog by Guest Blogger Rebecca Hill

March 15, 2011

I have not yet read Geneen Roth’s book, Women, Food and God but I hear it’s great!

In a recent e-blast from Oprah’s website they had a short article (perhaps an excerpt from the book?) that caught my attention. If you want to read the whole article, here’s the link:

Determining Your Exercise Intensity for Cardiovascular Exercise by Dr. William Kraemer, Ph.D.

3Determining Your Exercise Intensity for Cardiovascular Exercise

Well you have been getting a start by walking and just starting an exercise habit before you really get started with a more intense exercise program.  You have gotten a clear bill of health from your physician and some of you may have even taken an exercise stress test which evaluated you heart function as well as your cardiovascular fitness and then you know exactly what your maximal heart you can exercise at...

Pajama Days: Good for the Soul / Sugar Junkie Blog by Guest Blogger Rebecca Hill

In an attempt to understand ourselves and what we really want and need out of our lives, I want to take a look at Deepak’s question, “What is my idea of well being, and how can I achieve it?” If we can answer this, I don’t think we’ll need our “cupcake crutch” as often – at least that’s what I’m hoping because I’m getting tired of leaning on “cupcake crutches” to help me hobble through life. Are you?

If so, please take 5 to 10 minutes out of your busy day (and I do know that y’all are busy!) and really contemplate – “What is my idea of well being, and how can I achieve it?”

(Better than the fact that Coca Cola can remove corrosion and rust from your car battery. Yikes!?
What must it do to your body?)...

Years ago, we went to South America on vacation.
There were so many amazing things I remember about Brazil and South America, such as seeing Rio DeJaniero, the Corcovado, Sugar Loaf Mountain, the Amazon River, hiking the ruins at Machu Pichu.

Another thing that I remember all too well, is when we went out to dinner one night to a famous steak restaurant. We ordered and all shared a bottle of their best wine. We were all laughing and visiting when the food arrived. I was shocked. Placed in front of me was...
