Kiana's Mini-Me(s)

I am 1 proud Fit Mommy!  Why? Because my 2 daughters, ages 7 and 3, are so aware of healthy foods and know the importance of exercise.  At such a young age, they have learned so much about what is good for them and what is not.  Hmmm, it seems the role model thing does work.

Check this out: The other day at the grocery store, my 7 year old read the nutritional breakdown of a cereal she saw advertised on t.v.

Kiana’s Mini-Me(s)

I am 1 proud Fit Mommy!  Why? Because my 2 daughters, ages 7 and 3, are so aware of healthy foods and know the importance of exercise.  At such a young age, they have learned so much about what is good for them and what is not.  Hmmm, it seems the role model thing does work.

Check this out: The other day at the grocery store, my 7 year old read the nutritional breakdown of a cereal she saw advertised on t.v.

(She did this on her own, without my asking her to do this, which makes it so much better!) She turned to me in shock and said, "Mommy you won't believe it-this cereal has 38 grams of sugar per serving! That's disgusting!" She put it back quickly. Ahhh, this Fit Mom is so proud.

Another shocker: My 3 year old prefers fruit to any dessert.  She literally turns down ice cream and cookies when there is fresh fruit. When I buy her her own cartons of berries, you'd think it was Christmas! Farmers Market with all fresh fruit...it's her Disneyland! I know, hard to believe, but it's true. My eyes are tearing up a bit.

Fit Fun: I try and keep them as active as possible in our video game era of life. We jog at the beach, play freeze dance and they workout in our home gym with me. They jump on the trampoline, do kid pushups and do body squats while I lift weights. I am so proud of them and feel so accomplished knowing that they are aware of making healthy choices and exercising their little bodies! They love their swimming and dance classes, too. Their love of exercise is even evident in their art work!

I am proud of you too, Fit Moms! Stay focused, fit and positive and your kids will too! Love, Kiana

Kiana's Fit Mom CORE Tricks

I love tips and tricks that can easily be done throughout the day. Better yet, here are my favorite tricks to do while you are working out. It doesn't require any more time, but will give you faster results.  Since you are "changing up" your regular exercises and routines, you are making your core work harder and more efficiently.  Here is how you do it...

Motivating millions around the world!

Focus on each and every exercise you are doing. Visualize your muscles literally contracting and releasing with every rep. Concentrate on feeling the muscles work from your "nose to your toes."

Close your eyes when you do abdominal floor or fitness ball exercises. Visualize your abs contract and release and focus on your abs doing all the work-not your arms.

Hold a heavier dumbbell in one hand when doing strength training exercises like side raises, shoulder presses and biceps curls. The instability will naturally cause your mid section and core to work harder to keep your body balanced.

Perform standing exercises on 1 leg as opposed to both legs. Maintaining your balance will strengthen the muscles in your calves, hamstrings, glutes and abs more so than with both feet on the ground.

Motorcycle Fit Mama

Yes, Fit Moms. I do ride. I don't like being "the Fit Chick on the back of the bike" - I like to ride.  I don't get to as much now post kiddies, but as soon as my youngest goes to preschool and I have a few hours to myself....I'm off on my Harley with the hubby!  As your Fit Mom, it's funny to me when men assume I ride a "smaller motorcycle, not a full size one." Go Fit Moms!
This post is in response to the thousands of Google searches for "Kiana's Motorcycle."  This is my 1st baby. I love, love, love my motorcycle. Just haven't had much time to ride her lately.  My Harley and I were featured on Steel Dreams TV and Hot Bike Magazine and countless interviews and TV spots!  Here are the details......
