Sugar Junkie Blog / by Guest Blogger Rebecca Hill

March 29, 2011

Feeling stressed so I skipped breakfast to jump on a long list of to-dos that involves writing, 6 loads of laundry, finishing taxes and getting the oil changed in my car (which I still haven’t done.) About an hour ago, I had lunch. It consisted of a sugar cookie, a Rice Krispie treat, a large Diet Coke and fries. I think this officially disqualifies me from giving any fitness advice this week so let me turn it over to the expert - Kiana.

You’ve probably noticed that Kiana posts “:60 Fitness Tips” on this website. I love these! I like all of the blogs and the Fit Mom TV exercises and episodes but I’m often in a hurry, so these :60 Fitness Tips really work for me because they’re ‘bite size’ and totally doable!

Here are 3 of my favorite :60 Fitness Tips that Kiana has posted over the past few months. Hopefully they’ll give you a little food for thought! (If they do, please post a comment below. Kiana and I both love to hear what’s working for y’all in terms of your health and fitness goals!)

As for me – don’t worry. I’m going to ‘trigger instant happy feelings” by playing ‘string’ with my cat, Anais.

And I’ve pre-paid for a 5 p.m. Curves Circuit with Zumba class so when I hit the circuit in a few hours and start dancing I’m sure my stress (and hopefully the sugar cookie, Rice Krispie treat and the fries) will all melt right away!

Have a good week y’all – and remember, my main advice (as least for this week) is, “Do as I say – not as I do.” I’m still working on getting this ‘emotional eating thing’ under control…if I ever figure it out completely, you guys will be the first to know!

XO,
Rebecca

p.s. –One more thing. Once I come out of this sugar coma , I’m going to play my husband Tom’s songThrow It On The Fire” really loudly and start fresh. I don’t think I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to get back to center. I think by going to the Zumba class at Curves I’ll be back to center by this evening and can make good choices for dinner. I hope so anyway…

If, by chance, you’ve had a rough day too just click on the song title above then you can hear the song and sing loudly too!

  1. UPDATE: I had a fabulous time doing the Curves Circuit with Zumba with my girlfriends last night and it did "reset" my day! By the time I got home I was in a good frame of mind and made good choices for dinner. This is somewhat unusual for me because usually when I get off track, I just keep going and think "I'll start tomorrow" which turns into "I'll start next week" which can even turn into "This is all messed up - I'll just start again next month." Glad this sugar binge, though detrimental, was short and that it's over now. Having a smoothie for breakfast right now, then MOVING ON!!!

  2. Congratulations on "resetting", Rebecca! Each meal is a chance to start fresh. Thanks for the reminder. :) NED

  3. Hi Rebecca! I really think you are on such a great path of health. It is not always about eating what we believe to be "perfectly" healthy. Yes, sometimes it is obvious when we are totally off track, but for me it is how I treat myself when I think I have done "wrong." Being kind to myself after a slip is soooo important. And I think giving yourself the treat of working out and dancing with friends is awesome. You go girl!! Love, Suzanne
